This past Saturday we had guest teacher RA Friedman, M.F.A. visit us from Philly to teach us a 3 hr Pinhole Photography workshop. It was a beautiful spring day, and we held the lesson in Bethesda Fountain in Central Park.
RA brought two types of DIY pinhole cameras along with film, polaroids and pinhole lenses for our digital cameras. He explained to us the technicality of how it all works and then showed us how to go about and capture images. We all learned a lot and had tons of fun (evidenced in the images below). In fact, a few of the students went out on Monday to purchase the pinhole lenses for their digital camera – the passion for pinhole photography has been ignited!
Thank you, RA, for providing us with your enthusiasm and technical knowledge, making this such a special afternoon for us all!
A big thank you to my associate teacher, Lourdes Merson, for capturing such great shots of the workshop! Below her images are photos that the students took with their pinhole lenses.
We hope that you can join us the next time RA comes to town to teach us!
